 Lord Hanuman, Commonly known as ‘Bajrangbali’ or ‘Pawanputra’, is one of the most worshipped Hindu God in Kalyug. Lord Hanuman was one of the most faithful companions and an ideal devotee of Lord Rama in the Hindu epic Ramayana. Hanuman Chalisa is a 40 lines poem dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is chanted by his devotees, especially on Tuesdays, which is known to have a magical positive influence. The Hanuman Chalisa mentions the heroic deeds of Lord Hanuman, his strength, intelligence and generosity. Top eight life lessons to be learnt from Hanuman Chalisa are as under :

The starting lines of Hanuman Chalisa is regarding purification of mind and dedication of Hanuman to Lord Ram. Hanuman has a strong persona but still bowed down dedicated to His Majesty, Lord Rama, and obeyed whatever was asked for. Hanuman was very modest, unpretentious and humble. Likewise, we should also adopt Lord Hanuman’s quality of being truthful, dedicated, purified, and humble in whatever situation to steer towards a better life. Remember to start your day by devoting 10 minutes to the Hanuman statue placed at home; it shall give your day a good start.


2. WISDOM & BRAVERY:

These lines speak of Lord Hanuman’s bravery and his wisdom. In any circumstances, Lord Hanuman did not show his strength unnecessarily. Before taking any action, he, first of all, analysed the situations and then acted very wisely and patiently. Hence, though being full of strength, Lord Hanuman acted wisely to achieve his targets without being hindered by the magnitude of the targets. Likewise, one should adopt Lord Hanuman’s nature of being wise and patient in taking decisions and not booting off one’s powers unnecessarily. Even being conferred with powers, one should remain grounded and achieve success in all endeavours with one’s wisdom.   


3. SERVING THE MASTER:

These lines of Hanuman Chalisa speak of multi-dimensional qualities Lord Hanuman possessed. Lord Hanuman was blessed with various powers to either reduce himself as small as a mole or even expand to be large enough to touch the sky to accomplish his tasks. Even though he possessed such limitless powers, yet he was dedicated to serving Lord Ram in whatever capacity he could. Hence, one should be ready to serve others as per one’s resources and qualities, especially our elders, superiors, and the master. Also, just like me, you can place a Hanuman murti on your altar & meditate daily by chanting Hanuman Chalisa. Try it; it works wonders.


4. BEING A PROBLEM SOLVER:

Lord Hanuman was full of perseverance and strength and was a keen problem solver. Rather than complaining of the hardships, he used to find a solution to the same. As stated in Ramayana, unable to find herb in a mountain for Laxman, he lifted and brought the whole mountain, which had the herb in it. Likewise, one should follow the path of Lord Hanuman and shall concentrate on determining the cause of the problem and selecting the right solution and alternative for the same. This commitment to work shall help in gaining success in all ventures undertaken by any human being.    


5. DYNAMISM & FRIENDSHIP:

Lord Hanuman had the blessings of Yama, Dig pal, Kuber, and many other gods. Hence, he was the master of all trades in life and had the strength to complete any Hercules’s task with great ease. His efforts brought Sugreeva and Rama close to each other and made Lord Rama defeat Vali to restore the kingdom to Sugreeva. Hence, one should learn from various facets of life and master a few things to be utilised during challenging times. Life teaches a new lesson every day. Also, we should have good friends and offer whatever help we can to them.  


6. GUIDING OTHERS WITH OUR POWERS:

Lord Hanuman was a patient listener. After listening to the problems being faced by others, he guided them wisely to overcome their obstacles and be successful. His wise, correct and timely advice to Vibhishan helped him become the King of Lanka. Lord Hanuman had miraculous powers. Even during his childhood, he mistook the sun for orange and swallowed it. During Ramayana, he flew over the vast ocean to reach Lanka.  

Likewise, we should give a patient hearing to our friends who seek help and then guide them wisely. Every human has some of the other powers. We should know our powers and use them to our best capacity, as and when required.  


7. FIRM, FEARLESS & PURE SOUL :

These lines specify that as a devotee of Lord Hanuman, you should fear all evils and obstacles. Lord Hanuman is there to remove all negative energies and obstacles from your life, as he is a blessed personality capable of making impossible things possible. So devote ample time to Hanuman idol & adopt his ideologies, have a clear heart & soul, and he shall help you find success in every endeavour and challenging situations.



 

8. MOKSHA AND REGULAR PRAYERS:

In these lines, it has been emphasised that Hanuman was the favourite of Lord Ram and any one who chants his name has the blessing of Lord Ram, who is considered to bestow Moksha from the cycle of birth and death. Tulsidas, the writer of Hanuman Chalisa, has therefore informed all devotees of Lord Hanuman that regular chanting of Hanuman Chalisa shall bring you closer to Him, and His blessings shall be bestowed during all facets of life.
