Lord hanuman

Hanuman is the monkey-faced Hindu God identified as divine Vanara in Hindu mythology. He is the main and the most famous character of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Popularly recalled as the devotee of Lord Rama, Hanuman represents the power of unconditional love and respect that he shows for Rama. He is blessed with eternal strength, power and superb energy which keeps him protected and removes the obstacles in his path. Hanuman statue or the worship of the pious deity of Hanuman is extremely popular and in much demand due to its effective and immediate blessings.

Hanuman is also known as the son of wind-God Vayu so-referred to as Vayuputra or Pawan Putra. It is said that along with the avatar of Lord Vishnu on earth, vayu always accompanies him in various forms to support Vishnu in protecting and preserving dharma on earth. Owing to sheer strength and capability, Hanuman has played an important role by doing many difficult tasks in Ramayana. As per the belief, Hanuman is chiranjivi and is present on earth even today. Hanuman idol is kept in temples and praised by the people throughout the world.

There are many interesting incidences from the early life of Hanuman which has put an impact on the other part of his life. He was very active and even naughty since his childhood. He flew away to the sun and ate it due to hunger, thinking it was an apple. At this, he was struck by Indra (King of Gods) and later blessed with supreme powers by all Gods, when they came to know the truth. At an early stage once he misbehaved with sages who then cursed him to forget all his powers especially flying or becoming infinitely large. Later, Jambavan another character from Ramayana reminded him of his powers.

Other than this, there are very prominent incidences from Ramayana which signify the importance of Hanuman in the epic. On knowing his powers, he flew straight to Lanka by crossing the vast ocean in one go. Despite the presence of demons in the waterbody, Hanuman was able to escape and land right in Lanka to meet Sita on orders from Rama.

Later, the huge monkey-faced Hanuman was caught by the demons and his tail was set on fire as a punishment. He then used this fire and burned the entire Lanka which was also popular as the Lanka of Gold (sone ki Lanka).

There is one very fascinating myth about Hanuman that he never died and is still alive on earth, which he never left. Being an ardent devotee of Rama, he was blessed with a boon that his soul will stay on earth till the next avatars of Lord Vishnu. So, it is believed that Hanuman exists on earth even today but is not visible to people. Only the true lovers or devotees can perceive his presence and get his blessings as real.
